I am proud to share with you our commitment to being good data citizens in the ecosystem. Our mission is to build products that help businesses get more from their day-to-day business communications, and with that comes the added responsibility of ensuring data security and privacy as we process communication data and use it to activate workflows and feed our language models.

Here are some of the key principles of the Data Culture at Thena:

0. Radical Transparency

Our customers have the ability to see at any time what data Thena has access to and how we are using that data to drive our product features. We are also building the capability for OAuth tokens from Slack and other integrations to be refreshed with reduced scope and permissions at any point in time, should our customers wish to stop sending specific data to us.

1. Give controls in the hand of our customers. Ask Twice!

Another key principle of our data culture at Thena is giving control in the hands of our customers. Our request workflow products are designed to work with and without data. Customers have the ability to switch off our AI models that trigger these workflows, and even without these models, our carefully crafted customer requests and collaboration workflows can still deliver high gains in productivity and experience for both the customers and their teams. Soon, our customers will also have the ability to choose between different levels of models, some trained on platform data and others trained on customer-specific data.

2. Always act in the best of interest of our customers and their customers.

We always act in the best interest of our customers and their customers. We cautiously don't access information such as phone numbers, passwords and other sensitive data. Furthermore, we do not store any conversation data at any stage in our systems.

3. Less is more!

We also believe in the principle of "less is more." Any additional data request for our product goes through detailed deliberation on whether it is absolutely necessary to deliver the product experience that we wish to deliver to our customers. We start with "no" and play through every scenario in which we could deliver the product without accessing more data than needed.

4. Give customers what’s theirs

We also give customers what is rightfully theirs. At any point, customers can export and/or delete all data on Thena and wipe the slate clean. While currently, it could be done manually, it is on our roadmap to give this tool in the hands of our customers.

5. Keep up with Industry standards & compliance

Finally, we keep up with industry standards and compliance. We follow a rigorous schedule to review our security and access systems and are already SOC2 compliant. We strive to adhere to the highest standards in the industry.

In conclusion, as the advancements in AI continue to accelerate, it's important for companies like Thena to act and process data responsibly. We are committed to being good data citizens and to ensure that our customers' data is always protected and kept private.
